Operations

The Operations Department is responsible for outreach and mobilization and capacity building of the communities, Local Governments and Desk officers in relevant MDAs.  It is also charged with the review and assessment of Community Development Plans (CDPs) submitted by communities for funding.  The Department is headed by the Operations Manager, who is assisted by seven (7) Project Officers in charge of Education/training, Supervision, Gender & Vulnerable, GRM, ES, SS, and Nutrition respectively.

  • Education and Training Unit: This unit is charged with the responsibility of facilitating and delivering relevant educating and Training (E&T) to all stakeholders as and when necessary.  
  • Supervision Unit: The unit is charged with providing guidance for supervising field level activities related to CDP implementation.
  • Project Officer for Gender and Vulnerable (G&V)
    1. Designing and implementing projects to promote gender equality and support vulnerable groups in Niger State.
    2. Conducting community outreach and engagement to identify the needs of vulnerable persons and build partnership
    3. Collaborating with stakeholders to address issues like:
    • Gender-based violence
    • Women’s empowerment/participation
    • Support for persons with disabilities
    • Child protection
  • Project Officer (Nutrition): Designing and implementing nutrition-focused projects to improve health outcomes, especially for children under five. This is done by collaborating with stakeholders, including healthcare providers, community groups, and government agencies to promote nutrition education, counseling, and support services.
    Other focus areas are;
    1. Maternal and child nutrition
    2. Prevention and management of malnutrition
    3. Promotion of healthy diets and lifestyles
    4. Support for nutrition-sensitive agriculture
  • GRM Unit:The unit is headed by the Project Officer Grievance Mechanism (P.O GM) or Grievance Mechanism Officer (GMO) who is also the Secretary of Grievance Redress Committee (GRC).
    The unit is charged with the responsibility to receive, investigate, and redress complaints or grievances from individuals, groups or communities who are adversely affected by the programme activities or operations.
  • ES Unit:Environmental safeguard unit is to facilitate and ensure stakeholders engagement in addressing environmental management compliance, before, during and after project implementation in a sustainable and friendly manner and within an environmental standard/set standard
  • SS Unit:The Social Safeguard Officer ensures that project activities comply with social policies, protect affected communities, and promote equitable benefits. The unit help identify potential social risks, engagement of stakeholders, and developing mitigation measures.
    The unit role includes monitoring project impacts, ensuring the rights of vulnerable groups, and reporting compliance to management and donors. The unit help integrate social considerations into project planning, execution, and evaluation, fostering inclusive and sustainable development.
